Just xlexandrescu it has a computer in it doesn’t make it programming. The examples are great, flow of ideas is simple and easy, and the book can easily be regarded as a complete language reference.
Here a summary on const, immutable and shared types in D: Want to Read saving…. Library support seems still a bit limited to core functions but it looks very easy to make bindings for common C libraries.
I’ve always liked D better ptogramming the alternatives, but that is really a matter of taste, I guess.

I’ve seen there is a high-performance implementation of numerical algorithms which is better than Eigen and on par with the propietary Intel Math Kernel Libraries – if that can be confirmed, this is programing, very good! Since components alexandescu closer together, connections are also shorter, which means faster local interconnectivity.
To be fair, Brevik worked much harder on D2 though, and it’s overall a way better game. The D core team appears to be very small.
You can use it. Well, what happens if a class instance is automatically allocated on the heap and assigned to a reference type, and the allocation fails? This is a brilliant book, not just for those looking to learn about D. That sounds really good, and I would be totally interested in seeing more examples for that.
Thanks for telling us about the problem. I think this solution is frequently even good for real-time ;rogramming because such a system will often have a start-ip phase where it is allowed or desirable to abdrei allocate objects.

Picked up Go and getting into Rust for the exact same reason. But, lesson learned, need to stick to PDFs. We try to have a long deprecation cycle, where the new and old behaviors exist side by side, to give everyone plenty of time to adjust. View all 3 comments.
The best “bridging” language in the latter realm is possibly Julia which is explicitly not a general purpose language. The D Programming Language is an authoritative and comprehensive introduction to D. They are busy debating the language features rather than really working on the language. I can’t languae tell as I have not had the chance to try D so far.
However, I think that it needs a revised printing.
Just to explain shortly why I think the approach for D lang described in the link is very modern and very promising: I tried to read this but there was a pop up that made it unreadable I couldn’t get rid of. New mechanics and two new characters does take a while to get used to. The author’s style is light yet still full with expertise.
