Almost 40 million travelers visit Maryland from the United States and other nations annually. Travelers visiting Maryland stateside and from overseas are sometimes unable to return home on a commercial airline flight and require a medical flight on an air ambulance (Jet ICU) for rehabilitation, specialty care, transplant, treatment, or hospice care after a critical injury or illness.
Maryland is home to a growing senior citizen community over the age of 65. The senior population is continually increasing, as the Baby Boomer generation are approaching and reaching their seventies. Unfortunately, seniors often need a medical flight (or Jet ICU) to reach the next level of care covered by their insurance nearby family members after an injury, illness, or accident. Angel MedFlight’s award-winning medical flight team members are experienced in supporting air medical transports and providing care to all critical care patients, including seniors.
At Angel MedFlight we know we meet our patients and their family members on some of the worst days of their lives, and we understand that every moment counts when it comes to reaching the level of care you need when you need it most. That’s why our flight coordination team is here for you anytime – so your patient can reach the right level of care whenever they need it.
Angel MedFlight partners with our preferred part 135 operator, to transport patients on medically configured Learjet that promote hygiene, comfort and safety. A flight captain and a supporting pilot safely transport patients on every Angel MedFlight healthcare mission, while our certified flight nurse (RN) and flight paramedic (EMP-T) provide complete care and support throughout the medical transport.
What makes Angel MedFlight different from other air medical transport service providers?
At Angel MedFlight our team knows that when it comes to getting your patient to the next level of care, you want them to have the best treatment and transport available. That’s why our air medical team works rigorously for the industry’s highest training and certification standards. Every Angel MedFlight clinician receives regular training and exams on air medical procedures and patient care. Most of our air medical team members have over a decade of critical care experience and have achieved additional specialty certifications, including CCRN, CEN, CCP-C, CCEMTP. They are also aware of the air medical transport industry overall and how to work with Angel Flight and other healthcare and aviation organizations, so that every patient can reach the right level of care when they need it most.
Every Angel MedFlight medical flight team member maintains board certification in the flight specialty, (FP-C and CFRN) to provide quality care to all of our patients in a controlled environment.
